Answer: Yes the batteries just light the reticle making it usable in low light conditions. Great binocs, work better than ones I paid a lot more for. By Mr. LIU on 2022-03-08

Answer: It really depends on your ability to gauge the size of the deer since you are using mil dots and the slide rule on the binoculars. So the range is indefinite, you just need to know the height or width of the object you are looking at to extrapolate the range. I found this to be very accurate. You also need to remember everything is in meters, if you read the owners manual this is explained in pretty plain language. By Mr. LIU on 2022-02-23
